Shopify recently rolled out an update to customer accounts, and honestly, it’s a small change that makes a big difference.
The new system simplifies how you log in, find your purchases, and download what you’ve already bought — no more digging through old emails or wondering where your files went.
Here’s a quick tour of what’s new and how it works.
A Simpler, Password-Free Login
With the new customer accounts, you can log in in two easy ways:

Use your Shop Account for quick, one-tap access
or -
Enter the email address connected to your account, and Shopify will send you a 6-digit code
Just grab the code from your inbox, enter it, and you’re in.
It’s faster, more secure, and removes the whole “reset password” dance entirely.
Your New Customer Accounts Page
After logging in, you’ll land on your Customer Accounts Page.
From here, you can:

View your orders
-
Access your downloads
-
Manage your account details, including your email address, in your Profile settings.
Everything is organized in one place, so you’re not clicking around trying to track things down.
Downloads Links - Three Ways
You'll now see download links for your purchased products
- On the Thank You page after you check out
- In an email sent after your purchase
- On the Order Page in your Customer Account
This will make re-downloading old purchases much easier.
All of your download links now live directly on the Order Status Page.
Instead of searching through confirmation emails or old messages, just:

Open your account

Select your order
-
Download your files right there:
Simple, clean, and exactly where you’d expect them to be.

If you’re logged in and visit a product you’ve already purchased, you won’t see the Add to Cart button. Instead, you’ll see: Download Again
Clicking it takes you straight to your Customer Accounts page so you can instantly access your files.
No accidental re-purchases. No confusion. Just quick access.
